We are currently looking for an OnBoard Computer and Data Systems Engineer to support our customer in the Netherlands. OnBoard Computer and Data Systems Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will be working at ESAESTEC and support the ExoMars project. You will have the following responsibilities Supporting the establishment of the Digital Electronics Systems architecture and external interfaces Establishing the requirements of the Digital Electronics Systems and reviewing design to meet the ExoMars requirements Supporting project procurement activities and monitoring industrial implementation of procurements Ensuring that the interfaces of the Digital Electronics Systems are properly documented and controlled Monitoring and controlling of Digital Electronics Systems and subsystem level designs and analyses Develop and maintain the verification of the design and flight hardwaresoftware of the Digital Electronics Systems Ensuring that proper Product Assurance practices are applied during the manufacturing, test and integration phases. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in electronics, computer science, telecommunications or a related field Several years experience in the field of onboard computer and data handling systems Background in the design, simulation, manufacturing and testing of spacecraft platform equipment, modules, boards and components Knowledge and experience of the VHDLVerilog design languages as well as the design and development of FPGA and ASIC for space applications would be an asset Familiarity with space applications of computers and data handling and communication systems Knowledge of space environment, related ECSS and CCSDS engineering standards and space quality requirements Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. VN1412 In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of activities relating to Payload Data Processing Systems for Low Earth Orbit missions during development within the Ground Segment. During the EPSSG Ground Segment GS development phase, you will manage the engineering definition of the Payload Data Processing component, industrial activities associated with the procurement and development of the component and all the related activities leading to the integration, verification and validation. Following handover to operations, you will be involved in postdelivery support activities in particular during the operational validation of the EPSSG Ground Segment and later on during the satellites and overall system commissioning activities. To join us, you will require a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, plus practical experience of meteorological, earth observation or remote sensing nearrealtime, highly available, instrumentrelated data processing systems. In particular, you should be skilled in specifying, designing, implementing, integrating and testing Payload Data Processing Systems, leading teams, and adhering to ISO, CCSDS and ECSS standards. Finally, awareness of meteorological data formats such as NetCdf, HDF and BUFR plus compression algorithms would be a major advantage, and you should combine excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills with fluency in English and a knowledge of French. RHEA is currently recruiting two Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineers to support the maintenance and evolution of data processing systems and applications for existing programmes as well as activities related to the EPSSG ground segment at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany.
