ResponsibilitiesDuties The main tasks of the Network Operations Center Engineer will be Realtime scheduling Event planning TTC support Event monitoring request fulfillment Delivering TTC, Radiometric and Radio Science services, monitoring performance of services and triggering performing immediate corrective actions as required Validation of ground segment configuration and tailoring Advanced training to operations personnel Preparation of operations documentation Incident Handling Service Recovery Troubleshooting Anomaly Management Fault Root Cause Isolation and Resolution or Problem Escalation Support to handover to operations training, process development Participation, when nominated, as Operations Manager in the critical operations phases Supporting ESA Station Engineers and Ground Operations Engineers in identified projects and the execution of delegated tasks Support of LEOP launch and early orbit activities Provide 2nd line ground operations support to the NOC Support to deployment and operational validation of new changed infrastructure or configurations Support to ESTRACK test and validation activities, including e.g. MRTs, station performance tests, tracking campaigns, etc. NDIU operations support services Definition of enduser requirements in support of infrastructure evolution. The NOC Engineer will be expected to occasionally work as part of a 247 shift in support of launches and special operations. QualificationsSkills Applicants require a University or similar degree in engineering, physics or similar applicable discipline. A good professional experience in endtoend ground station systems required for spacecraft operations, antenna, RF frontend equipment, backend TTC systems, communication equipment, MC systems, station general support systems and preferably also in the area of space to ground communications and RF. Solid experience in endtoend ground station systems for spacecraft operations Solid test procedures, equipment and tools background Good ground systems knowledge on a subsystem level Familiarity with operational environments Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Fluent in English, both in speech and writing Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Proactive and confident personality with good persuasive skills Teamplayer, able to interface with technical and management personnel Well organized, able to prioritize and manage several tasks in parallel Solid IT knowledge, in networking concepts and common tools and software applications Able to demonstrate broad knowledge of the principles of good customer service, and the fundamentals of Service Management within an ITIL operation Experienced in operating within a modern service management environment, with a good understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and performance objectives and reviews.
