What can you expect? You will contribute to the ongoing deployment and exploitation phase of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, as well as the definition of the future second generation of Galileo by contributing on system performance and integrity aspects.You will join the Airbus Navigation Department. With more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. In your daily activities you can expect Work in the GNSS Evolution team contributing to the ongoing exploitation phase of Galileo and to Galileo and EGNOS evolutions Contribution to definition and design of future concepts with major focus to functionalities and architecture forGround segment and overall system Drive the system engineering process by requirement derivation, flow down, justification, tradeoff analysis and development of system engineering models Evaluation of future navigation relevant services with detailed simulation of system concepts and algorithms to assess the expected segment and system performance in support of system definition Tradeoff analyses for different solutions and implementation options contributing to design documentation with proper justification Investigation of navigation system ground segment algorithms and data dissemination concepts for advanced services provision Support to consolidation of concept of operation Support to software implementation, adaptation and optimization for modelling and algorithms for data dissemination testing We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a degree in an engineering discipline with major focus on navigation and system engineering and modelling such as Systems Engineering, Navigation, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Geodesy, Telecommunications or similar Experience in satellite system and segment engineering and in integration and verification and operation of large ground systems Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and identify innovative solutions Experience to transform ideas into concepts and simulations Understanding of end to end system performance and system functional chains with emphasis on navigation message determination and data dissemination concepts Experience in describing and modelling of system concepts Experience in software development, verification and best practices in software development processes such as version control, testing environments, debugging and software modelling Experience in programming with C, Python or Matlab Experience with system engineering tools e.g. Doors, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, XML, Modaf or Innoslate Ability to work within an international environment with the opportunity to work temporary in in different European locations colocated with our partners Fluent in German and English Please apply for this vacancy at our careers site www.jobs.airbusgroup.com with your CV attached. The focus of the MPT is on system operations and their monitoring reporting.
