Project management support EPSSG Ground Segment 1513087 Job Description We are looking for project management support in the development of the ground segment of the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG satellite system for our client EUMETSAT. You will be part of the EPSSG Ground Segment Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division LEO at EUMETSAT and be involved in supporting the EPSSG Ground Segment development activities. Your tasks will typically include Participate in team management meetings and in meetings with partner agencies, contractors, internal stakeholders, etc. as appropriate Track progress against agreed development plans and signal any likely or identified deviations from these plans, together with proposals to reduce the impact of any delays Track actions and risks, analysing and reporting critical issues to the Project Manager, and support the close out of such actions and risk mitigation activities Prepare minutes of meetings and correspondence to industry andor EUMETSAT partners Contribute to the preparation and execution of the Project Reviews from a management standpoint Contribute to maintaining the project schedule in coordination with EPSSG team members, perform a critical path analysis of the schedule In coordination with the EPSSG Project Control Team, support the Project Manager and team in maintaining project documents such as the Project Management Plan, Product Tree, Team Organisation Chart, Work Breakdown Structure WBS and related documents Prepare presentations and synthetic progress reports for internal e.g. report to senior management and external purposes Follow up subsystem development activities monitor deliverables to and from EUMETSATs partner agencies and industry, and support the review of deliverables. Support the control of the baseline definition of the ground segment including evaluation of Change Requests, Change Proposals, Requests for Waiver Deviation, etc. Support on a case by case basis the other Programmes within the LEO Division in Project management support activities. These activities will involve interactions with other EUMETSAT teams and external stakeholders. Travel within Europe may have to be undertaken. Required Skills and Experience University degree in the domain of engineering, science, business administration or equivalent At least 3 years of experience performing project management activities At least 5 years of experience working on large and complex development projects in the aerospace or similar domain Experience of working on a collaborative programme between different partners Ability to make synthesis from various written or verbal inputs with excellent English writing skills Good computing skills with strong experience withability to use MS Office software Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, etc.. Desirable Skills and Experience The following would be additional assets Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and processes Certification in project management or in project management disciplines Knowledge of systems development lifecycle Experience of Ground Segment development for Earth Observation systems Knowledge of ECSS standards. Short Term Software Management support 1513080 Job Description We are looking for a software librarian to support our client EUMETSAT based in their headquarters. You shall be involved in implementing improvements to the development environment for the EUMETSAT Data Centre Archive and will be integrated within the Data Services Engineering Team. Your duties shall be to analyse, design, and implement appropriate software configuration management, to support continuous integration, testing and deployment of UMARF software. Particular focus for this assignment will be to modernise and improve the development and build processes by using modern tools and strategies. It is envisioned that this should be implemented on the Technical Compute Environment TCE. In particular the tasks will include, but not be limited to The migration of the subversion repository to the TCE. Build management Improve the build processes with the introduction of continuous integration technologies. This will require some extensive rewriting of current build scripts. The following goals should be achieved An automated build process Continuous running of test cases were possible Improved reportingrealtime notification of build failuretest failures etc Release management Improve the current software package management and deployment Enable releases to be easily and efficiently implemented, tested and deployed Simplification of the development environment, All prerequisites libraries, jar files, environmental variables etc, should be available from version control Advice, suggestions and introduction of tools, practices and strategies for the software configuration management.
