Rome, December 10 - Global companies STMicroelectronics and Clonit, and Italy's National Institute for Infectious Diseases Lazzaro Spallanzani have developed an rapid, portable Ebola virus tester, a media statement released on Wednesday announced. According to the statement, the portable analyzer kit detects the presence of the Ebola virus "with extreme accuracy in just a few microliters of human-blood samples" within 75 minutes.

Yesterday morning, Italy's first female astronaut arrived at the International Space Station, carrying the first zero-g Certified Italian Espresso coffee machine. The machine, called the ISSpresso, was created by a couple of Italian companies after another Italian astronaut returned from the space station in 2012 and complained about the lack of good coffee in Earth orbit.
