Pending home sales jumped 3.5% in February, to the highest level in seven months, according to the National Association of Realtors . Economists had forecast that the forward-looking indicator rose 1.1% month-on-month, and fell 0.5% on a not-seasonally-adjusted basis compared to the prior year.

Home sales jump but prices dip in Massachusetts

Real estate data reports released Tuesday say the number of single-family homes sold in Massachusetts increased in February, compared to the same month last year, when much of New England was buried under historic snows. But the median price for single family homes declined for the first time in months, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors reported.
Wisconsin home sales rise in February from year earlier

A new report says sales of existing homes in Wisconsin rose roughly 4 percent last month compared with a year earlier. The statistics released Monday by the Wisconsin Realtors Association say existing home sales were up 4.1 percent from February 2015, while the median sales price rose 6.8 percent to $146,800.

US home sales suffered a steep drop-off in February, reversing months of gains as low inventories weigh on the real estate market. The National Association of Realtors says sales of existing homes fell 7.1% last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.08 million.
