Showers and thunderstorms continue to become better organized in association with a low pressure system located about 500 miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. However, satellite wind data indicate that the circulation of the system is still elongated. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for development, and a tropical depression is likely to form later today or on Wednesday while the system moves west-northwestward or northwestward. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave located several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands continue to show signs of organization. However, recent satellite data indicate that the system currently lacks a well-defined surface circulation. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for development during the next few days, and a tropical depression could form while the system moves generally west-northwestward. This low is expected to move east-southeastward during the next couple of days. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...near 0 percent. An area of low pressure, associated with a tropical wave, is located several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands.
