Junior Engineer, Integration and Test Luxembourg Betzdorf Role description summary The O3b mPOWER Test engineer will be responsible for testing in a lab environment of the systems and subsystems of the O3b mPOWER setup. The endtoend services of a MEO satellite constellation link are integrated and tested and require a thorough process of integration testing and validation. The system components integrated include an endtoend Modem Platform test environment, a MEO satellite link emulator environment and a resource allocation software dedicated for the link management of the system. After the lab test and validation phase, the test engineer will be responsible to migrate the system into an operational environment and ensure through an initial phase of live air testing the transition to operations of crucial systems. Primary responsibilities Key result areas Define Test plans and procedures for integration and validation plans of the overall endtoend communication system Review System design documentation for O3b mPOWER Participate in O3b mPOWER system reviews for the space segment, ground segment and service software projects Specify and setup a lab environment intended to become a full test setup for O3b mPOWER Review and comment the O3b mPOWER requirements, concepts of operation, interfaces and define accordingly the test plans Follow development and implementation work as expert resident software engineer at a software development company Ensure contract compliance and quality assurance of software development processes Follow critical tests throughout the software development process Automate the lab test environment to ensure testing can be executed in an efficient manner and repeated Work with an experienced team using agile methodologies Organize transmission live air satellite transmission test campaigns for terminals, resource allocation software and gateways and ground equipment Follow the IOTS in orbit tests of the O3b mPOWER system Organize integration validation tests of the operational software with other critical parts of the satellite operations software Automate the development cycle via continuous integration Create technical documentation and reports of the development process Keep uptodate with latest technologies Qualifications Experience Masters degree in an Engineering or Science discipline such as Aerospace engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or a related scientificengineering fields. Senior Engineer User Terminal Development Luxembourg Betzdorf The Senior Terminal Solutions is a key member of the SES Next Generation User Terminal development team providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of satellite terminal and baseband systems development. The engineers primary objective is to be the technical lead for the development of a more integrated Customer Edge Terminals. This Senior engineers primary focus shall include Supporting the development of customer premise equipment CPE designed to provide value added services to our customers as well as simplify the overall terminal solution, including but not limited to performing ACU, MC and scheduling functionality, performing packet processing and MEF compliance, and providing additional products and services asdefined by product. Supporting modem platform development and testing efforts including but not limited to SDR developments Supporting antenna developments including FPA, and vertical specific developments fixed, maritime, aero, etc PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Responsible for defining the CPE solutions and integrating it with the larger terminal architecture as well as coordinating the development of the core functionalities of the CPE including ACU, MC and Scheduling Work with product and networking teams to integrate core networking features include packet process and MEF certification. Supporting andor lead other strategic developments as identified by the product team including but not limited to SDR modems and solar powered terminals. Support other key terminal developments including modems, FPAs, etc. Work with product and engineering to develop edge distribution solutions including WIFI, LTE and 5G.
