Senior Engineer, Service Improvement United States Bristow, Virginia Role Description Summary As the Senior Engineer, Service Improvement you will role play a critical role in Network Managed Services in driving Service Improvement initiatives especially in terms of problem management for all incidents reported in the Networks NOC. The key objective of this role is to support service improvement related to ensure improvement of Customer experience and contractual SLAs with our customers In this position you will work closely with cross functional team Operations, Engineering, Tools and Customer facing organizations to ensure that persistent and chronic issues are identified and corrected, improving SLAs as well as Customer Satisfaction levels with Managed Services operations. You will also be responsible for ensuring problem management, reporting process adherence and compliance, and streamlining processes and procedures. Senior Engineer, Ground Systems United States Manassas, Virginia As the Senior Ground Platforms Engineer you will be responsible for testing and deploying satellite communications hubs and modems supporting both GEO and MEO constellations mainly based on Comtech systems. This position will work collaboratively with our partner vendors, ground platform architect, network architects, and operations team. Candidate must be selfdriven and contribute significantly in a fastpaced environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Analyze VSAT solutions using Comtech Solution in support of SES service offering Lead deployment and testing of ground systems in a lab environment, run test plans, and generate test reports Develop test plans to support the validation of MEO and GEO ground platforms to ensure they meet the technical, functional, performance, and business requirements Partner with Comtech to development system and optimize solutions Evaluate and recommend thirdparty test tools to aid with systems test efforts Drive technical defects and bug resolution with our partner vendors Create operations handover documentations that describes SES Networks specific configuration, commissioning procedure, troubleshooting guides, and CONOPs Deploy HUB software upgrades and major HUB configuration changes Serve as the service reliability engineering function within our engineering team Provide training and support as required to other technical staff QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in engineering, computer sciences, IT or similar required education can be substituted for experience Masters degree preferred 1015 years of experience in the satellite or telecommunications industry required Advanced experience in VSAT platforms like Comtech focus, iDirect, Gilat, Newtech, or others preferred Advanced experience with designing service levels using QoS feature of VSAT platforms Moderate experience in IP protocols, TCP, UDP, RTP, routing protocols, and switching preferred Moderate knowledge of WAN optimization techniques including TCP acceleration, caching, and compression preferred Basic experience with Unix system environment preferred SatcomComtech certifications and or other industry certification is a plus MEO satellite experience is a plus Proficiency in English required other languages a plus Ability to travel 25 of the time required Whats in it for you? Senior Engineer User Terminal Development Luxembourg Betzdorf The Senior Terminal Solutions is a key member of the SES Next Generation User Terminal development team providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of satellite terminal and baseband systems development. The engineers primary objective is to be the technical lead for the development of a more integrated Customer Edge Terminals. This Senior engineers primary focus shall include Supporting the development of customer premise equipment CPE designed to provide value added services to our customers as well as simplify the overall terminal solution, including but not limited to performing ACU, MC and scheduling functionality, performing packet processing and MEF compliance, and providing additional products and services asdefined by product. Supporting the development of edge connectivity solutions including WIFI, LTE and 5G base station solutions Supporting the development of solar based terminal, based on future mPOWER modem and antenna developments. Supporting modem platform development and testing efforts including but not limited to SDR developments Supporting antenna developments including FPA, and vertical specific developments fixed, maritime, aero, etc PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Responsible for defining the CPE solutions and integrating it with the larger terminal architecture as well as coordinating the development of the core functionalities of the CPE including ACU, MC and Scheduling Work with product and networking teams to integrate core networking features include packet process and MEF certification. Supporting andor lead other strategic developments as identified by the product team including but not limited to SDR modems and solar powered terminals.
