Ground Segment Systems Operations Engineer 162130 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Systems Operations Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT. You would be working within the System Engineering and Projects Division supporting system engineering activities for Operational systems. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team interacting with operational programmes and future programmes and will support the SEP Division with the following activities Supporting the consolidation, evolution and maintenance of the Ground Segment reference architecture. Supporting the assessment of impacts to the Ground Segment of changes required for operational systems, resulting from evolution and maintenance activities. Our client, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. One of their objectives is to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. They are seeking a Communications and Networks Systems Engineer to be part of the Comms team supporting all phases of communications system specification, design, development, operations and evolution for all comms systems. The Consultant shall have the following mandatory skills and experience at least five years experience in the area of specification, design, implementation, verification and maintenance of Communications systems Internet Protocol network design, specification, documentation, testing, fault finding, and evolution. Indepth knowledge of Cisco design methodologies, technologies and solutions ideally including enterprise WLAN infrastructure. It will be beneficial if the key person holds current Cisco certifications or equivalent Familiarity with the trend to virtualise the above technologies and to recommend and justify when and why such approaches may be optimal, in addition to then deploying and supporting them e.g. SDNs. Communications and Networks Systems Engineer 1613125 Job Description We are looking for a Communications and Networks Systems Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT based at their headquarters. You shall be employed within a leveraged allmission team, requiring the ability to switch rapidly between the multitude of roles e.g. project support, operations as required. The team support the full range of Comms Systems, from provision of support to new networks systems requirement and design, support of operational systems and those transitioning to operations status, and integration of legacy systems and their eventual replacement or decommissioning Your responsibilities within this team will be Ownership of customer communications systems needs. Prime interface and point of contact for ensuring customers needs are understood and translated to technical specifications and constraints. Owning the responsibility to identify gaps between what the customer requires and the policy and technical constraints that may need to be mitigated e.g. security policy adherence. Leading the rollout of customer solutions within the projectprogramme and being the liaison between the Comms Team and the ProjectProgramme throughout. Obtaining and ensuring customer buyin and joint ownership of deliverables. Ownership of the network performance and management solution delivered and the servicesolution quality delivered to the customer.
