Your mission Analyse the needs of our customers through their specifications Justify and optimize the design of structures at thermal level by establishing thermal models radiators, insulation, heating lines. Establishing the specifications, procedures and thermal test reports. In this context, you will have to perform test predictions and correlation of the thermal model. Writing the technical documentation related to the thermal activities during all the phases of the projects. Actively participate in internal meeting and meetings with customers. Your profile You hold an ETH diploma, or deemed equivalent 5 years, specialized in thermal engineering. You have an experience of at least 3 years in the space industry. You master one of the dedicated software ESATANTMS, Thermica, FEMAP TMG or IDEAS TMG, and can justify the proper design of structures with respect to their thermal requirements. Knowledge in CFD and mechanics would be an asset. You have very good knowledge of spoken and written English and are comfortable to defend your technical solutions in this language. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Engineering support to the MTG Ground Segment Data processing team in the frame of the MTG Programme. Support activities related to initially Phase CD followed by phase E of the MTG Programme in the area of data processing engineering. In this context attention is drawn to the mandatory nature of the programme. In the detail, support will be provided for the following tasks Support the procurement of data processing elements by advising on technical solutions proposed by the contractor and by reviewing documentation to confirm its compliance with the requirements Support management of the requirements baseline for data processing elements Support refinement of ICDs Support testing, integration and acceptance of data processing elements Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent, including experience in the engineering, physics, or software or similar domains Relevant experience in preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data processing systems for Earth Observation missions considering the systems engineering aspects of data processing management and data provision experience on data processing for high data rates missions will be considered an asset Relevant experience with L1L2 processing software for Earth Observation missions, either for operationsmaintenance or specification and development Relevant experience in the requirements engineering process, including relation between requirements, ICDs, design and testing documentation Relevant experience in monitoring and implementation of designs against requirement baselines and IVV, including testing and formal acceptance Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of MTG. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context The ability to maintain a system overview is essential. This ability must be exercised within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams, covering several different data processing levels and instruments Systematic approach to work, be able to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge of the IBM DOORS tool or an equivalent for requirements management Knowledge of task relevant ECSS and CCSDS standards.
