Space Safety Data Systems Manager 2023018 Job Description We are looking for a Data Systems Manager to support our customer the European Space Agency with the Space Safety programme in their site in Darmstadt Germany. You will be managing data systems including software applications for the domains of Space Weather, Near Earth Objects and Space Surveillance and Tracking. Your primary tasks will include Support the deployment, validation and operations of Space Situational Awareness SSA applications, developed in the context of industrial activities Setup, configuration and management of DEVOPS environment for SSA systems, including automation of application deployment solution Supportcontribute to the Programme data management evolution OnSite software development for adhoc RD projects, innovation tasks, Lab projects You will be working in close cooperation with the Space Situational Awareness Data System Manager, the SSA Data Centre Manager and with the SSA Segment teams, in order to drive innovation through implementing DevOps technologies and championing DevOps culture. In this context, you will support the following activities Automating CICD processes Providing training in usage of CICD, container orchestration, and DevOps tools. Develop release approach using automated, containerised deployment techniques Develop automation scripts, daemons, and APIs to reduce manual steps Analyse root causes of issues and provide corrective actions. Evaluate new tools and techniques to drive efficiencies. Manage Cloud infrastructure services and accounts. Keep evolving system and application monitoring infrastructure Drive data engineering initiatives and innovation Design scale data management products Enable and facilitate a datadriven culture for internal and external clients, Support Data Centre and System engineers, Data Analyst and Data Scientists with architecting and orchestrating data infrastructures Support Software Development teams with Data, e.g. continuous integration and gradual deployment analytics. The OPEN Preparation Environment OPEN is supporting the preparation of tailoring data for European Ground Systems Common Core EGSCC based systems. Being a software framework, OPEN is meant to be the foundation of larger software products which are provided to end users, such as AIT engineers or operators. The OPEN framework was born from an ESA initiative to streamline and harmonise EGSCC based preparation environments for spacecraft and ground stations operations teams to manage tailoring data required to operate the data systems. OPEN can however do much further and answer needs for all EGSCCbased system users.
