This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to work in the domain of ground station operations to support our customer EUMETSAT in the operations, maintenance and long term evolution of their ground stations. This position is based in Darmstadt, Germany and will start on the 1st of January 2014. Ground Stations Operations Engineer J2711 The Ground Stations play a key role in Space and Ground Segment operations, the Engineer will therefore be expected to acquire and maintain a Systemwide view of the Ground Segment, particularly in the areas of spacecraft TTC and payload data transfer. The Engineers shall divide hisher time and expertise, according to the workload, between the various programs to support the long term evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Ground Stations. Responsibilities Duties The tasks of the Engineer will typically include Investigation and rectification of anomalies reported by the operationsmaintenance team Interface with the maintenance services providers at a technical level Reporting on the performance of the Ground Stations and associated systems together with a status report of any ongoing activities Attendance at the relevant coordination meetings to plan and schedule Ground Station activities ensuring compliance with Operational activities and constraints Provision of Ground Stations support to operations during critical mission phases, pre and post launch i.e. SVT, LEOP, IOT and contingency Maintenance of operational Ground Stations procedures, databases and documentation inaccordance with the configuration management and quality assurance practices Provision of technical support during the creation of maintenance agreements and contracts Assist with the preparation or evaluation of proposals for modificationsimprovements to the Ground Stations and associated equipment Planning and scheduling the implementation, testing and validation phases of any modifications improvements.
