Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Extensive theoretical knowledge of Level 1 data processing algorithms for image navigation, registration and calibration and the techniques used for assessing the geometric and radiometric quality of Level 1 image products Specifying, prototyping, verifying and validating Level 1 algorithms Processing and analysis of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating remote sensing products and complex remote sensing data processing systems. Spacecraft andor ground segment operations Imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for an Image Quality Assessment Engineer to work as a member of the Image Quality Assessment Team of INRC Image Navigation, Registration and Calibration supporting the mediumterm and longterm monitoring, operation and further development of Level 1 data processing systems. The key person shall support the quality assessment and validation of the Level 1 image products for current and future GEO missions but will also provide support to current and future LEO missions in this area. Moreover, heshe shall support the development and maintenance of monitoring software for Level 1 image quality assessment as well as support the software maintenance of the operational Meteosat Second Generation Level 1 data processing systems. This includes a significant contribution to and active participation in verification and validation test activities. The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require the fulltime participation of a Key person for the duration of the contract.
