China, Cuba prepare to launch direct flight

China and Cuba are planning a direct flight linking the two's capitals across the vast Pacific Ocean, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Saturday. Air China, a leading airline, will undertake the preparation of the Beijing-Havana flight, which is expected to boost economic ties and promote cultural and person-to-person exchanges, the CAAC said.

Tasks and Responsibilities The key person will provide prime support to the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team and will support the evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics Systems the requirements specification, design, implementation, integration and verification of Flight Dynamics Systems for new Programmes PhaseBCD, including the setting up of the related maintenance arrangements and processes. The tasks of the key person will typically include Support to new Missions PhaseB activities Requirements engineering System Architectural design Support to new Missions PhaseCD activities Support to Flight Dynamics System implementation Support to IVV and Acceptance Maintenance and Evolution Activities Reengineering activities analysis of the porting of some subsystems to stateoftheart technologies, tradeoff studies of various technologies, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes Evolutions and changes generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenance driven software requirements, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level Support and development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, delivery acceptance and installation onsite. This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation to technical reviews, participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes preparation of test data, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems Software support software support to the endusers of the application software Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations Documentation generation and updates of technical documents Technical point of contact for maintenance contractors acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Support to Reference Architecture definition and maintenance Participation to the definition and maintenance of the EUMETSAT TSS reference architecture for the Flight Dynamics System part of the Ground Segment. Requirements Essentials In addition to having a University degree in a relevant engineering discipline, the key person shall demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the area of specification, design, implementation, verification and maintenance of Flight Dynamics Systems. The key person shall have skills and experience in the following mandatory areas Domain Skills Experience minimum 3 years in requirements elicitation in the area of Flight Dynamics Experience minimum 3 years in the definition of software requirements, architectural design, implementation andor customisation of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems in the context of LEO missions. Software Development, Verification Maintenance Skills Experience minimum 3 years in the full cycle of development and maintenance of application software, preferably for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems, following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design, implementation, corrective and evolutive maintenance activities Experience minimum 3 years in IVV integration, verification and validation activities for Flight Dynamics Systems following formal engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, system and subsystem integration, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports and anomaly tracking. The software will support current and future earth observation missions operated by our customer, an international space organisation located in Darmstadt, Germany. Responsibilities The Flight Dynamics Consultant will support activities at the site to work on tasks such as Support operation of the near real time NRT Precise Orbit Determination POD software embedded inside the GRAS instrument operational product processing facility Support the design, implementation, testing and operational validation of new versions of the operational NRT POD software Maintenance and evolution of an offline POD environment Compare operational NRT POD performance with results from the offline POD environment to identify potential improvements in the operational software Monitor the performances of the GRAS support network, providing NRT solutions for the GPS constellation. Evaluate the impact on the operational solution and identify potential improvements to the operational software Support reprocessing activities for the inflight satellites as well as for partner radio occultation satellites Cosmic, Champ, Grace Generate precise reference orbit and estimated manoeuvres for the MetOp satellites, in support of flight dynamics and satellite performance evaluation.
