Software Analyst Flight Dynamics mf Ref. No. 158979 The Mission We anticipate your engagement will include contributions to science and earth observation missions. The Challenge We are looking for experienced Software Analysts for Flight Dynamics to be located at the customer site, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasksresponsibilities will include Orbit and attitude manoeuvre preparation, Manoeuvre performance analysis, orbit determination and propagation, trajectory optimisation, product generation, software test and validation, support for simulation campaigns and critical operations Attitude command file generation, actuator and sensor calibration, attitude determination Conceptual design studies for the operational flight dynamics system, operations preparation and planning Flight dynamics software test and maintenance Adaptation of algorithms to new and exotic space environments, adaptation to new interfaces and functional requirements, migration to new hardware andor operating systems. Development of test tools and analysis of test outcomes. These are fulltime positions with a planned starting date in August 2015. Your Qualifications Applicants shall have an university degree, preferably in astrophysics, mathematics, space engineering or a closely related discipline or other suitable qualification. Essential skills are Exceptional physical insight, combined with rapid execution and a practical and rigorous approach to problem solving Experience devising and realising mathematical algorithms to satisfy demanding scientific applications, ideally using Fortran, C and Matlab User level experience with the UNIX operating system English fluency, verbal and written Desirable skills are Knowledge of space flight dynamics and spacecraft attitude determination and control subsystems Some experience in scripting with Unix tools Some experience with flight dynamics operations Familiarity with mission analysis approach including software tools at ESOC Experience with an international satellite organisation or similar entity The position requires a great deal of independence and selfmotivation.
