This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy. Mission Operations Coordination and Management Support 1815036 Job Description We are looking for a Mission Operations Coordination and Management Support Engineer to support our customer, the European Space Agency, at ESRIN. The selected candidate will support the PDGS Operations Manager with in depth technical coordination of all aspects of the Third Party Missions TPM PDGS aspects, including routine operations, evolution projects and relationship with third parties and mission bodies. The tasks will include End to end monitoring of the TPM PDGSs performance Monitor and control incidents trends, risks, etc. and ensure incidents resolution across the TPM PDGSs according to the service levels and quality standards agreed with the different operations teamsservices. Ensure adequate anomaly root cause analysis and problem resolution. Support the PDGS Operations Manager with the generation of weeklymonthlyquarterly management and operational reporting taking inputs from the various services and systems Responsible for operational endtoend coordination among common services, TPMspecific services and thirdparty actors Responsible for overall configuration and documentation management within the TPM PDGSs Ensure, in collaboration with the various operations teamsservices, optimisation of TPM PDGS resources, identify potential bottlenecks and propose resource upgrades when necessary. Contribute to the optimisation of endtoend processes and improvement of service efficiency. Contribute to the improvement of the TPM PDGSs and the adaptation to product and usage evolution e.g. by proposing architecture or application changes Responsible towards the TPM mission manager of EarthNet budget dispatching to scientific projects and TPM specific projects coordination, if delegated by the PDGS Operations Manager Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline, preferably in Earth Observation or Computer Science. Experience on Payload Data Ground segment architecture andor operations. Capacity to acquire In depth technical understanding and knowledge of PDGS systems overall architecture, data flows, interfaces, dependencies in a limited time Experience with configuration management, change control and release management Proactiveness, good communication skills, team player Results oriented Capacity to work autonomously Capacity to generate good documentation. Fluent in English. Strong project management skills and experience Ability to complete complex tasks with minimal guidance and to work and cooperate with others. Experienceknowledge on serviceoperations best practices, management and processes. Ability to coordinate end to end activities and teams Ability to take ownership and manage end to end problems. At least 5 years of working experience in the area of PDGS operations of ESA missions or representativesimilar environment. Tasks and Responsibilities Support the definition and development of the EndtoEnd E2E Mission Performance Simulators for future EO missions Contributing to ensure the technical coherency and completeness of the simulation of the observation system, including, as needed, functional analysis, system level budgeting, system performance analyses, modelling of spacecraft andor payload subsystems and related data processing to meet system and mission requirements Install and use those E2E simulators on the EOPSF IT infrastructure for mission performance evaluation and system tradeoffs for future EO missions Ensure a consistent evolution and maintenance of the E2E simulators and a proper configuration and storage of the relevant inputoutput data sets Initiate and support work in the area of modelling of system or subsystem aspects spacecraft, payload, ground processing for E2E simulators and System Engineering Tools Support the development of generic building blocks and modules, and aim at maximum synergy and reuse of those building blocks and modules from one E2E simulator to the next making use of ESA OpenSF infrastructure httpeopcfi.esa.intindex.phpopensf Participate to the development of System Engineering Tools for preliminary analysis and sizing of future EO missions Use the above System Engineering Tools for system tradeoffs, preliminary sizing and performance evaluation of future EO missions.
