A Carencro woman was the second person arrested in connection with a nation-wide financial fraud scheme that stole more than 300 identities and $5 million, according to the Louisiana Attorney General's Office. Taylor is accused of working with Donald Batiste, of Baton Rouge, who allegedly defrauded people and businesses across the country with his "credit repair" company.

Athens man arrested for stealing steaks from grocery store

Henry Lawrence Ridgeway, 54, of Boulevard was arrested Tuesday when caught with a "large purple bag of steaks" he reportedly stole from Kroger on Alps Road, Athens-Clarke County police said. Responding to a manager's report Ridgeway shoplifted from the store and ran onto the adjacent campus of St. Mary's Hospital, officers found Ridgeway outside the emergency room entrance with the bag of steaks, police said.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office Financial Crimes Unit began working several investigations in reference to counterfeit checks drawn off of a local business and being cashed at Publix Super Markets in July 2015. The counterfeit check ring consisted of eight individuals who passed nine counterfeit checks at different Publix Super Markets throughout Tallahassee all drawn off of the same business account.

A woman who crossed four lanes of traffic and collided with another car on Highway 71 near Bee Caves on Monday evening had a blood-alcohol level of .339 and several previous DWI convictions, according to an arrest affidavit. Police arrested Christine Quinlan, 50, outside a H-E-B grocery store near the intersection of 71 and Bee Cave Road.

St. Asaph St. Patch photo, taken before store opening The Alexandria Police Department announced Monday morning it has made two arrests in a series of bomb threats targeting the Harris Teeter grocery store located at 735 N. St. Asaph St. in Alexandria. The threats were made between April 30 and July 20. The Harris Teeter received five bomb threats in all and evacuated their customers for each occurrence, according to police.
