EGNOS Exploitation Department Traineeship

The European GNSS Agency GSA announces a traineeship opportunity for European students and graduates. The trainee will support the daily operations of the EGNOS Exploitation Department of the Agency. The traineeship will take place at the GSA headquarters in Janovskho 4382, Prague 7, Czech Republic and shall last preferably from 1 September 2017 to 28 February 2018. The traineeship contract will be concluded for 6 months, which may be extended for further 3 months maximum twice or further 6 months maximum once. The maximum duration of the contract is therefore 12 months. However the GSA reserves the right to conclude individual contracts according to which the traineeship commencementend will deviate from the above dates specified. The trainee will be expected to carry out the following duties under supervision Contribute to the understanding of user requirements in using EGNOS for new transport modes or applications with the objective to improve EGNOS services or develop new ones Contribute to the definition of technical feasibility studies that assess how user requirements can be implemented and to validation activities that ensure that the service developed meets user requirements Support the team activities, notably for the preparation of meetings with industrial contractors, the management of technical documentation and the interface with EGNOS stakeholders More information can be found here httpswww.gsa.europa.eutraineeshiplisting

The European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency GSA has set up a selection procedure that aims to establish a reserve list for Programme Manager for Galileo Exploitation. All staff of the GSA has been attracted by the unique opportunity of contributing to make the most important project of technology innovation of the EU come true. The vast majority of staff previously worked in the private sector, mostly in competitive industries, and the GSA is applying the best world class practices. Further details on the European satellite navigation programmes may be found at httpwww.gsa.europa.eu The Programme Manager will report to the Executive Director, nevertheless such hierarchical reporting may change, in perspective of the developments of the GSA organisation. Tasks and responsibilities indicated below are also subject to possible adjustments. Among other tasks, heshe will be responsible for Managing the GSA Galileo Exploitation Team currently composed of approximately 20 staff members Managing the planning and execution of Galileo Exploitation programme activities in compliance with the Delegation Agreements from the Commission, and ensuring the associated GSA interface with Commission representatives Conducting Galileo Service Engineering activities mission analyses from user needs to mission requirements specifications, new service design, user segment standards development Specifying the needs for Galileo Service and System Evolutions and implementing the associated design and development activities through a Working Arrangement with ESA, and ensuring the associated GSA interface with ESA representatives Ensuring the delivery of Galileo services Initial Services, then Full Operational Capability Services, coordinating the different contributors to such service delivery Prepararing, negotiating and managing the Galileo Service Operations Activities, including Galileo Service Centre in Madrid, the Search Rescue SAR Galileo Centre in Toulouse and Galileo Reference Centre in Noordwijk, thus guaranteeing proper interface with the Galileo Security Monitoring Centre GSMC, in Paris Preparing, in coordination with the GSA Security Department and ESA, the Galileo security accreditation milestones Representing the Agency in public communication events Furthermore, the Programme Manager for Galileo exploitation will also contribute to other tasks of the Agency, as necessary. Finally, as mentioned above and importantly, such description of tasks may evolve together with the evolution of the Agencys missions and organisation.
