(Telecompaper) TeliaSonera has issued statements about the updated remedy package that it has submitted to the Norwegian Competition Authority regarding its acquisition of Tele2 Norway, but has not given any details. It said it would guarantee continued strong competition in the Norwegian mobile market. Robert Andersson, head of the Europe region at TeliaSonera, said it strongly believes in this acquisition and its ambition is to close the transaction in the first quarter of 2015.

(Telecompaper) Increasingly fewer Tele2 triple-play customers would recommend the provider to friends or acquaintances. In the past few months, the operator's Word of Mouth score has fallen 10 percent points, to 35 percent in December 2014. The WoM score indicates the percentage of current customers who would recommend a provider or device to others. The figures for the last six months show also that in the mobile postpaid market, the brands Hi and Hollandsnieuwe score better than their parent companies KPN and Vodafone.
Tele2 Russia sees traffic up 50% after 3G launch

(Telecompaper) Mobile operator Tele2 Russia announced that daily traffic on its network has grown by 50 percent month-on-month in December. The increase is related to the launch of 3G and LTE networks by the operator in several regions. Tele2 Russia launched its 3G network in St Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk in November and Tambov in December, and the LTE network started in Tula in December.

(Telecompaper) The Tele2 Group presented its 4G plans for the Dutch and Baltic markets during a briefing in London, saying it wants to launch its 4G network at the beginning of next year in the Netherlands and cover 90 percent of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia by the end of next year. Existing and new customers in the Netherlands will be able to use the new LTE-advanced network from March. The first network clusters will launch in three weeks and will cover an area stretching from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. Roll-out will then continue across the entire country until nationwide coverage is reached, by the end of March 2016. Tele2 said it finished modernizing its network in the Baltic States this year, with investments reaching EUR 50 million. The company also secured the full spectrum portfolio necessary for LTE development 800, 900, 1800, and 2100 MHz in all the states, together with 450 and 2300 MHz in Estonia, and 2600 MHz in Latvia and Lithuania. This year, the share of data revenue reached 24 percent of all service revenue in Estonia, 22 percent in Latvia, and 12 percent in Lithuania. An acceleration in data usage is expected in the near future, as prices for data services and smart gadgets becomes more affordable, the company said.
