Reporting to the EPSSG Operations Preparation Manager, the Senior Operations Preparation Engineer supports the EPSSG operations preparation at system level, from requirements, concepts and planning to the validation of the operations baseline and system operations procedures. Duties Develop Joint Operation Plans with development partners and other external entities, in coordination with the EUMETSAT Operations Department Coordinate the development and operational validation of System Operation procedures and timelines Manage the validation of operational scenarios, coordinate activities, teams and schedules for timely delivery of the operations baseline Serve as the focal point for coordination with the ground segment development and system Verification and Validation teams Support the EPSSG Operations Preparation Manager to achieve the required maturity of operations preparation at project milestones Support system in orbit commissioning, for the first and recurrent satellites Follow up and coordinate operability aspects of ground segment developments, to ensure safe and efficient operations Support the EPSSG System team for requirement traceability to Operations and concepts. The tasks the Contractor shall support have been split into two categories SAT tasks related to satellite operations skills SYS tasks requiring system operations skills The Contractor shall contribute to Ops Prep development phase. This includes Develop and validate endtoend System Control Procedures SCP and timelines for routine and contingency operations in coordination with satellite and system Ops Prep team leaders. Each new version of a database received or deployed shall be documented in a database report. The management of the WODBs also include the configuration and the usage of the associated operation preparation tools and editors. It is also envisaged that the WODB will be subject to extensive enhancements with respect to the SRDB in order to facilitate safe and efficient operations SAT. Define the Database and OnBoard Software Ops Guides in coordination with the satellite operations team leader and maintain the associated Ops Prep Working Practice SAT. This includes Maintain the Operations Validation Plan OVP and coordinate tasks and teams for the validation of the operational scenarios OSV SYS. Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in experience in a relevant discipline, the full team shall have a wellbalanced and distributed experience in all following mandatory skills and each of the key persons shall have experience in at least two of these mandatory skills Experience of Spacecraft Operations and or Operation Preparation preferably on Low Earth Orbit LEO, with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, LEOP, commissioning or routine operations phases Experience in Satellite Databases.
