Guardian: Britains oil and gas fields have increased production for the first time in more than 15 years, figures show. Government statistics for the first 10 months of 2015 show oil and gas produced on the UK continental shelf up 8.6% from a year earlier, the industry body Oil & Gas UK said. Woodside scores drilling success with gas find off Myanmar

Woodside Petroleum has made a gas discovery offshore Myanmar in a find described by chief executive Peter Coleman as "encouraging" for the future of the exploration program in the country. The Shwe Yee Htun-1 well found gas over a depth of 129 metres, of which a relatively modest 10 metres has been designated as "net gas pay", signalling it could be of a good enough quality to yield commercial production.
