JOB DESCRIPTION Data processing system engineer Responsibilities Duties Tasks The Data Processing System engineer LO, DFEP shall support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSA T s Marine Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS maintenance in particular anomaly correction and software release process in the area of DFEP and LO, and necessary evolutions, including the necessary coordination of the data processing systems engineering for the related interfaces with the rest of the Sentinel3 ground segment. The Key Persons duties will include a range of tasks, from preparing and providing the support of the day to day operation and maintenance currently in the preparation phase, the analysis, and testing of the facilities which also includes the handling of anomalies, design of upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. The Key Persons will be the focal point when it comes to integrating the individual SW Facilities into a data processing system, covering all aspects of system integration and testing, including endtoend testing of the production system. Tasks will also contain the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures as well as the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. This may also entail the participation in the specification and development of specific monitoring tools for S3. In support to operations, the Key Person may also be required to provide on call support as part of a team of maintenance engineers, especially for the S3 commissioning and initial operations phases. Required knowledge The consultant shall have the following background Adequate to the requested category N years experience in maintaining and engineering of evolutions of large scale software systems missioninstrument data processing and specially related to DFEP and LO processing in data processing systems. Experience in software development lifecycles Software debugging and profiling tools e.g. GDB, DBX, IBM Purify, Valgrind Source code control systems, preferably Subversion and CVS Competence in SW testing, unit test suite maintenance, automated testing, verification and validation. And the following specific technical skills and experience Experience with DFEP processors as used by S3 and LO processing within a framework based solution PDGS for S3 Networking technologies and tools CCSDS protocols, Space Data Link Protocols, TCPIP, UDP multicast, PGM, FTP, Wireshark CCJava programming language experience in a UNIXLinux based environment Knowledge of Scripting languages Python, Perl, TclTk, shell Knowledge of web technologies, programming and markup languages e.g. Apache, CGI, JavaScript, XML and related technologies XPATH, SVG, etc. WHAT DO WE OFFER?
