We are currently looking for an EPSSG System Test Tools Data Engineer to support our customer in Germany. EPSSG System Test Tools Data Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities Identification of EO test tools and test data required to support VV activities and definition of development procurement approach and associated planning Preparation of User Requirement Documents, Statements of Work Development and validation of test tools and their maintenance Procurement of test tools test data and acceptance testing Simulation of test data sets for VV using available tools Compilation of test data sets using real data from satellite instruments Support for configuration management of tools test data sets Operational support of the tools during system and ground segment VV Contributions to the analysis of test results and the preparation of test reports Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering, physics or equivalent Several years experience with the development of onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation VV activities for instrument processing chains, including test tools and test data Software specification, design and development according to ECSS standards Proficient knowledge of programming languages, such as Fortran, CC, Java Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of French would be an advantage. Job Description System Engineer for the Data Handling Subsystem DHS engineering of a geostationary satellite project. Technical responsibility for the satellite DHS integrity, thus for system level activities including requirements engineering, design and performance engineering, verification concept, specification of test requirements, satellite configuration, interface control for satellite subsystems and payloads, DHS engineering budget control Coordination with the Lead System Engineer Overall responsibility for all data handling related project activities, ensuring technical quality as well as schedule and budget compliance on subsystem and system level Leading of a DHS engineering team within the project, including management of subcontractors involved in DHS activities Personal Specification Degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, technical informatics or comparable qualification Several years of professional experience in space industry as electronic or software system engineer or in similar positions in the area of satellite computers, Milbus communication, Spacewire, FDIR concepts Several years of experience in a CD satellite project Excellent conceptual and analytical skills Strong capability of leading engineering teams with well developed communication skills Ideally, experience in ESA satellite development projects Fluent in written and spoken English, German language skills advantageous
