ATG Europe is currently looking for an Internet Services Software Engineering Support, to be deployed at our customers location in Germany. Our client is a global operational satellite agency dedicated to gathering accurate and reliable satellite data on weather, climate and the environment and distrubuting that to international partners and users worldwide. You shall work in the Data Services Engineering Team and will report to the Data Services Engineering Team Leader. Your tasks will be carried out mainly at the customers facilities in Darmstadt, but travel within Europe may be required for certain activities. As a member of the GSI Data Services Engineering Team, the key person shall provide support for routine operations but also for evolution and maintenance of the web application based data services. The duties range from the support to the operation of the customers web services such as the Internet Processing and Presentation Service IPPS, to the implementation of system tasks for handling evolutions of the provided web application services and to the maintenance of software functions maintaineddeveloped within the Data Services Engineering Team see details below. This may include the settingup and implementation of operation, maintenance and evolution policies and procedures, the support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the co ordination with external providers of maintenance services. Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, you must have excellent team working skills, be able to work autonomous and have good analytical skills. Extensive experience in designing and developing web based front ends using HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript and in particular popular libraries used in the Javascript eco system Experience in developing web based applications relying on a database backend RDBMS or NoSQL. Experience in software development methodologies and techniques such as continuous integration, test driven development and peer reviewing. Operation Support Skills Extensive experience in the provision of second line support for operational systems,which includes the monitoring of the performance, problem investigation, coordination of resolutions and oncall support. Documentation and Software Configuration Management Skills Experience in using software configuration management, anomaly reporting and tracking tools.
