For our activities in ESOC, we are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer for Sentinel2. Tasks and Responsibilities The key person will be primarily assigned to Sentinel2, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within the Earth Observation Missions Division. The primary area of responsibility for the key person is Mass Memory and Formatting Unit, SBand and XBand Subsystems, but the candidate may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE activities. The key person will be responsible for MMFU, SBand and XBand Commissioning. Regarding LEOP, heshe will be assigned to a minor role with limited responsibilities, as the MMFU and XBand will not be activated. Other areas of responsibility and support specific to Sentinel2 are Validation, test and operation of the MCS Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on MMFU, SBS, XBS, but also for other subsystems Support for test and operate the NDIU Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents Mission Planning. Requirements Essentials Spacecraft subsystem knowledge Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. Desirables Experience in working in an operational environment Familiarity with Packet Utilisation Standard or other TMTC standards Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with procedures life cycle Familiarity with Mission Planning tools Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites Familiarity with multi satellite missions. Other areas of responsibility and support specific to Sentinel3 are Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on System Volumes but also for other subsystems as required Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Support the interfaces with external partners Industry, PDGS, CNES, EUMETSAT Review of satellite documents LEOP support support SOM and the Deputy SOM as System operations engineer Commissioning support support SOM and the Deputy SOM in the preparation, implementation and execution of the Commissioning Plan. A vacancy for an EDRS Operations Engineering and Mission Support mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Munich Ottobrunn. The successful applicant will join France Satcom System Engineering. EDRS European Data Relay System is a satellite based high data rate communication system for relaying Earth Observation data received from Low Earth Orbit LEO satellites via geostationary satellites directly to the ground for further distribution. EDRS is a PPP program between ESA and Airbus. The overall system consists of the space segment two geostationary satellites and the ground segment. The first GEO satellite EDRSA will be launched first half of 2015 and the second GEO satellite is planned for third quarter 2016. Airbus Defence and Space is the prime contractor and responsible for the management and implementation of the programme and the subsequent provision of the data relay service to ESA and other customers over a period of minimum 15 years. In this role, you will support the operations engineering team in the area of procedure definition and supervision of procedure implementation, testing and acceptance with main focus on payload flight operations. After the launch your tasks will also include engineering support to mission operations until final handover to the operations team. You will report to the head of the operation engineering team. Regular shift work is not required with exception for LEOP and IOT support. Please note that this is a fixedterm contract of 15 months.
