JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks Activities will include the definition of planning domains for several robotic scenarios, the use and extension of planning algorithms, and the participation in the design and implementation of an autonomous planning framework, able to be used for dynamic replanning in realtime. Candidate will be involved also in discussions and negotiations with partners in technical matters. Participation in the elaboration of bids is also required. Candidate will also be available to travel frequently. Participation in the elicitation of requirements, design and testing, and the documentation associated to these activities will also be part of the job. We have a vacancy for a person wishing to join the Control and Data Centres team Team in Software Engineer for Mission Planning Software Development MF SESYSCDC201709HQ001 Tasks and Responsibilities The successful candidate will join the Control and Data Centres team, whose activities cover the development of ground control systems, controlling the experiments done on board of the International Space Station, and different future space crafts, as well as the development of space weather related systems. The initial assignment is the development of mission planning software for the European Space Agency and NASA Missions in the International Space Station have to be designed carefully, taking into account the specific constraints of the mission and the availability of resources and astronauts In addition, ESA and NASA have to coordinate their plans constantly to avoid conflicts In this activity, the software will be developed using an agile method. Qualifications and Experience For this position, you must have a university degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent 2 to 5 years of experience in design development of software implemented in Java andor Python Experience with the software development lifecycle Fluent with relational databases and SQL Competent in writing highquality software project documentation in English Good knowledge of Linux systems as a user and administrator o Good understanding of IP networks, firewalls, VPN, PKI, routing o Open Source Server environment OpenLDAP, FTP, Samba. The following capabilities will be considered as an advantage for the position Experience with Python and Django framework, development of enterprise software Experience with modern frontend programming, especially ES6 and React Competent with system deployment and orchestration tools Docker, Ansible Knowledge and experience with ECSS E40 standard.
