Monitoring and Control System Engineer

For our activities in EUMETSAT we are currently seeking a Monitoring and Control System Engineer to work as part of the GMES Sentinel3 ground segment team. Task Maintenance of Sentinel3 MC requirement specifications and liaison with the operational users for the definition of the requirement baseline Followup the Sentinel3 MC procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose Support the Sentinel3 MC ground segment team and the FOS manager Interact with suppliers and partner organisations e.g. ESOC. Participation to the Reviews for the Monitoring and Control System and interfacing facilities Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings Analysis and review of any relevant Sentinel3 documentation. Participation to Sentinel3 MC Monitoring and Control System facilities testing and related activities on facility as well as on system level Analysis of test results and test reports on facility as well as on system level in particular with respect to their suitability for requirement verification and validation Installation of the Sentinel3 MC Monitoring and Control System at EUMETSAT while fulfilling the configuration management requirements Verification of correct facility installation Monitor and, where applicable, steer the lifecycle for all related anomaly reports ARsnonconformance reports NCRs Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Qualifications and Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Engineer shall have experience of spacecraft andor ground segment procurement. The Engineer shall have a goal oriented attitude with a good level of communication skills enabling working in a highly flexible integrated team. They shall be able to conduct all activities under stress and must be able to work with the minimum supervision. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
