Location EAC, PorzWahn, Germany Description EAC Management and Operations Support Officer in the EAC Management Support Team, ISS Operations and Astronaut Group, Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration Duties Under the authority of the Space Medicine and Management Support Team Leader, the postholder supports the Head of the EAC establishment in managing and administrating the Centre as well as supporting operations service leads and selected crew support activities. Main duties supporting the Team Leader in the management of the EAC site matters, in close coordination with the ESA Facility Management FM Department coordinating and establishing EACs contributions to the HREinternal and corporatelevel coordination and reporting processes such as contributions to technology roadmaps, reporting of EAC Key Performance Indicators, or to delegate bodies coordinating and maintaining the EAC strategic plan as input to the HRE strategic plan supporting preparation of agreements with partners of EAC in coordination with legal services in HRE andor corporate level supporting EACinternal and corporatelevel knowledge management activities including the maintenance of EACs document management system ECLIPSE supporting the development of relations with the administrative authorities of the host country and ensuring that the terms of the agreements with German authorities are observed and applied supporting the identification and implementation of actions related to quality ISO 9001 and environmental ISO 14001 management activities in coordination with relevant HRE or corporate processes and with FM, and management of the related continuous improvement processes supporting the establishment of accounting documents for crew support activities in close coordination with the technical specialists and the HREC supporting Centrerelated activities in support of Spaceship EAC in close coordination with ExPeRT Team supporting overall management, administration and contract implementation of the ISS service contracts supporting continued improvement of ISS operations including defining options for further optimisation and cost savings across all operation services. Technical competencies Stateoftheart knowledge in area of responsibility at required level Knowledge of ESAs legal environment, convention, rules, regulations and policies Experience in mission, spacecraft andor payload operations Experience in Service Level Management, in particular the ESA Service Level Agreement scheme Understanding of the Agencys core business and structures and relationship to other Space Agencies Behavioural competencies Communication Teamwork CrossCultural Sensitivity Results Orientation Self Motivation Education University degree Masters level or equivalent qualification in engineering or natural sciences. An additional degree in economics or from a business school would be an asset. Additional requirements Candidates should have a good understanding of the Agencys corporate processes, rules and regulations and relevant HREinternal and corporatelevel coordination and reporting processes. Also, a good understanding of the special relationship between EAC and DLR, CNES, ASI Integrated Team and between EAC and the surrounding DLR campus, together with an indepth knowledge of ISS operations. Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description Earth Observation Technology and Frequency Management Engineer in the Future Missions and Instruments Division of the Future Systems Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes. Duties Reporting to the Head of the Technology Coordination and Frequency Management Section, the postholder will in performing these tasks work in close cooperation with staff in the Future Systems, the Projects and the Mission Management Ground Segment Departments, while liaising with the Directorate of Technology, Engineering Quality and the Agencys Frequency Management Office. Duties include responsibility for the following tasks related to EO technology identifying technology requirements for future EO missions and programmes, monitoring and reporting the evolution of EOrelevant technologies including from new emerging applied sciences, defining and managing technology development activities for the preparation of EO missions in coordination with other Directorate Divisions, contributing to coordination of preparation of ESA RD programmes at corporate and Directorate level for EO space and ground segment aspects, initiating and performing internal studies to assess the results of industrial activities, monitoring and reporting the evolution of EOrelated technology activities in the technology programmes of ESA and its Member States. The postholder will also support the Section in the following tasks analysing requirements and constraints of EO missions under preparation with respect to frequency allocation and interference, providing specific support to preparatory activities and to projects to an extent to be determined casebycase, monitoring the evolving frequency needs of future EO missions, including early concepts, and potential conflicts with competing areas, participating as needed in the work of technical committees in the framework of the International Telecommunication Union ITU, the European Conference of Postal Telecommunications Administrations CEPT and the Space Frequency Coordination Group SFGG, conducting studies to support the ESA position in these committees. In performing these tasks, the postholder will have close contacts with representatives of industry and other space agencies.
