MTG User Preparation Support Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the User Support Team, you will Support the MTG user preparation activities through coordination of the MTG User Preparation Project Maintain the MTG User Preparation Project plan and associated documentation and schedule related activities Collect and collate project inputs from all internal stakeholders, in particular those parts of the Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division and the teams within the Geostationary Programme Division GEO Arrange and attend regular Project team meetings and prepare meeting reports as required Record and monitor any open actions associated with the Project Prepare inputs to management reports on the status of the Project Keep abreast of guidelines issued by the WMO regarding user readiness activities for next generation satellites and prepare inputs and followup actions as required. Support some of the user engagement activities identified in this Project External coordination and user engagement activities for MTG user preparation, e.g. supporting RSP workshops, preparing and collating results from user surveys, etc Support the Web Content Developers in the preparation of content for the MTG user information area on the EUMETSAT website Support the Training Team with updated information on the status of the Project for inclusion in training events. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications as well as proven and extensive experience in University degree preferably in remote sensing, meteorology or environmental sciences Project coordination or a project management role An ability to relate to user groups of remotely sensed data and products Remote sensing related to meteorological observation needs Preparing and maintaining information for users, preferably within the meteorological user community, in particular national weather services Use of project planning tools like MS Project or similar Working in partnership across organizational boundaries Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Job description Our customer, EUMETSAT, will be managing the routine mission operations of the Sentinel3 low Earth orbiting spacecraft for the European Copernicus programme. The aims of the Sentinel3 mission include measurement of seasurface topography, see and landsurface temperature, and ocean and landsurface colour in support of ocean forecasting and environmental monitoring. Responsibilities We are looking for a senior consultant to provide ocean science training and user support consultancy support for the activities mainly related to the ocean activities within the Training and User Support Teams of the User and Climate Services Division at EUMETSAT. In this position you will support the exploitation of the Sentinel3 marine data in respect to a growing community of users, in particular through the provision of information, management of training activities and engagement with user groups in coordination with the entity responsible for the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service. You will be part of the training team and will work with experts across EUMETSAT and partner organisations. The main tasks are Identify and regularly update the relevant user organizations, their fora and possible intermediaries on the Ssentinel3 marine mission and the marine data stream. Provide regular information to users and user groups on the status of the mission and the related marine and ocean products and service.
