FAA is proposing $78,000 civil penalty against Amazon Fulfillment Services of North Las Vegas, NV for allegedly violating U.S. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations with its shipment of one quart of high gloss enamel paint on August 29, 2013. Workers discovered leaking paint had soaked through shipping box, and investigators determined shipment was not accompanied by proper shipping papers. FAA is proposing $204,050 civil penalty against Sierra Academy of Aeronautics of Atwater, CA for allegedly operating 9 Cessna 152 airplanes for total of 358 flights when they were not in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations. Allegedly, Sierra mechanics failed to inspect planes' seat locking pins according to requirements of an Airworthiness Directive (AD).
