The role will be part of the Network Operations Centre NOC tasked with coordinating, configuring and monitoring activities 247 related to the ground segment in. This role requires shift working conditions. The main tasks of the Network Operator are Routine operations Checking the relevant systems before the satellite passes Configuration and use of relevant systems according to the project requirements Monitoring and control of the relevant system during the satellite passes including On the Prime and backup system Telemetry Telecommand software Communication Software and Gateways I O Handlers o SSB WSPC Network Monitoring Configuration of the event clock Monitoring of data, voice lines and system utilization Preprocessing of the web survey data Safeguard and Data Completeness Logging Keeping Activity and Operation Logs Creating Printouts for Error Analysis and Error Reports DR Coordinating to Troubleshoot On Call Perform daily, weekly and monthly security procedures at the data processing facilities Coordination Acceptance of the project requirements before the satellite passes Instructions on important events during the passes Coordination of the replacement circuits in case of failure Cooperation with operation with other facilities and external agencies Station briefing on the expected activities during the satellite passes Authorization of the stations for transmitter switching on and off, command handling, rail survey configurations, etc. Data flow monitoring and verification of various types of data such as Telemetry Telecommand Railway survey data Path prediction data State Vector, ODF, IIRV, Twoline Elements Monitoring and operation of data transfer systems AFD Copy and distribute data on request Monitoring the Internet connections, voice lines, Infrastructure and Operations Management Using relevant Tool Monitoring and Restoring Time Standard UTC Carrying out tests of the communication equipment Coordination with external troubleshooting devices The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should bring minimum 12 years of experience in satellite or network ground station operations. Supervise and coordinate scheduled support activities. Monitor the progress of station configurations for satellite passes through voice coordination or remote monitoring systems. Schedule Ground Stations and OCC facilities in realtime outside normal working hours. Configure and monitor station configurations for satellite passes as well as data transmissions and performance. Respond immediately to any anomaly affecting operations relevant procedures shall be initiated and 1st line maintenance activities executed as required in order to restore operations. Document and track anomalies, call out 2nd3rd party supportescalate and followup on incident resolution. Reporting and documentation. Act as first line of contact for users of critical systems. Provide 1st line computer and network support to all eligible users including incident, problem, change request and user requestcomplaints handling. Actively monitor all operational IT systems, applications and networks and react immediately on potential issues or outages by Logging and escalating incident tickets according to procedure Identify the impacted servicesusers and inform all relevant parties Initiate incident resolution or mitigating actions to restore the service asap Call outescalate to 2nd line support or external providers according to procedure Followup on incident resolutionprogress and inform interested parties of the status Prioritise work according to criticality of systems, schedules and targets. Operation, fault finding and repair on the network and on active network components CISCO using Ethernet and TCPIP protocols and by logging oncommanding active network components. In line with procedures perform contingency and scheduled reconfigurations, hardware and software maintenance, test and remedial activity, so as to minimise resource impact. Perform various housekeepingadministrative duties. Work to predefined schedules and service levels, actively participate in recommending technical and procedural improvements to benefit the service. Provide round the clock cover in a rotating shift pattern, with adequate information handover between shifts. Maintain a log of all relevant activities and events. Attend user meetings, briefings, user groups and workshops as required.
