Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Participation for the work package Onboard Data Handling OBDH and deliveries of the related items hardware, models, documentation in space programs during the phases BCD. Analysis of customer and mission requirements. Flow down of upper level requirements to functional chain and subsystem requirements. Analysis of system performance and participation of supporting work packages. Definition of system components such as Onboard Computer OBC Remote Interface Unit RIU Mass Memory and Formatting Unit MMFU Instrument Control Unit ICU other digital equipment as required case by case e.g. Crypto Units Coengineering with suppliers. Support of project team members and other disciplines for Data handling resp. Digital Engineering matters. Support of relevant operations and AIT activities at system level. Copernicus Climate Data Inventory Engineer 6 months assignment Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Climate Service Team at EUMETSAT, you will have the following responsibilities Quality control and achievement of scientific and technical consistency of the full existing CEOSCGMS ECV Inventory interacting with data providers worldwide Definition, design and validation of a gap analysis process, aimed at the identification of gaps and missed opportunities for the creation of ECV Climate Data Records from existing and planned missions Assessment of the ECV Inventory readiness for a gap analysis process, e.g. by analysing how incomplete information may impact a gap analysis Coordination of inventory and gap analysis activities with the ESA Climate Office, Performing a gap analysis for specific priority areas considering ECV interrelationships and analyse results Gathering additional user and technical requirements from C3S for the ECV Inventory Design, development and implementation of ECV Inventory extensions, as needed Provision of support to the CEOSCGMS WG Climate in drafting an action plan based on the gap analysis results including Compilation of technical notes and presentations. Location ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany Description Data Systems Engineer in the Applications and Special Projects Data Systems Section, Mission Data Systems Division, Ground Systems Engineering Department. The postholder will be responsible for the definition, implementation, acceptance and maintenance of mission data systems e.g., robotic mission data systems, mission control systems, simulators, SSA data systems.
