Data Circulation Test Engineer

For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for a Data Circulation Test engineer who will typically be involved in tasks related to the VV activities, hisher activities will be an input for the overall system and ground segment VV activities. Tasks and Responsibilities Typical tasks include Creation and maintenance of the IVV system data circulation test plan, test specification and test procedures, test tools and test data. Coordination and supervision of the execution of the system data circulation tests this includes coordination with external entities i.e. partners and industry as well as internal teams at the customer e.g. OGS and MME teams, to harmonize tests with simulated and real external interfaces. For all relevant test activities consolidation of the test results, generation of test reports and performance of the necessary analysis. Identification of the suite of test tools and test data required to support VV activities. Contribution to the inhouse development and validation of test tools and their maintenance. Contribution to the acceptance of test tools test data provided by partner agencies, i.e. instrument data simulator and ground processor prototype. Contribution to the preparation and execution of VV tests of endtoend processing chains, such as preparation of test specifications and procedures, test tools and test data. In addition the candidate will be involved in Development of test tool and test data. Participation in relevant internal and external meetings. Regular review of future programmes documentation dealing with requirements, system concepts, architecture and design, technical analyses, to identify information of importance for test tools test data. Analysis of documents provided by other teams in the organization and by external partners. Contributing to the preparation of documentation for the mission system level reviews. Some activities will involve interactions with other teams, and also, as relevant for the work, with engineers at partner agencies. Skills and Experience Profile The following skills and experience are mandatory. University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent Proven experience in the verification and validation of large complex systems, with at least 3 years of general experience with onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation. Handson involvement in data circulation VV activities including generation of test plan, test specification, procedures and test reports for endtoend processing chains. At least 3 years of experience with software specification, design and development and relevant standards. Some experience with definition and development of test tools and generation of test data sets. System requirements management and functionalarchitectural modelling, with support of tools e.g. DOORS. Configuration Control processes and tools. Familiarity with the ECSS standards. The keyperson shall have furthermore the following skills be able to fulfil the assigned tasks without supervision and systematic approach to work, be able to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation good skills in higher programming language e.g. C, Fortran,... working with UNIX and Linux operating systems good communication skills verbal and written and be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. These activities have generated an opportunity for a Data Services Operations Engineer to join our Additional Data Services Team. In this role you will conduct and coordinate the Data Services routine operations and support the future evolution of the EUMETSAT Additional Data Services systems, using data originating from our partners and service providers. You will also coordinate the operations of EUMETSATs network of SLBand Regional Services receiving stations known as EARS. You will be involved with the planning and will coordinate the daytoday activities of EARS and Additional Data Services with the EUMETSAT operations team. Additionally you will analyse the operations and performance of the systems, raising anomaly reports and proposing solutions and evolutions where necessary. Your role will also include the preparation of training material and conducting training for the engineers, analysts and controllers teams.
