EPSSG System Data Processing Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities The activities for this consultancy will include overall system aspects involving the space segment satellites and the ground segment, consisting of the data acquisition systems, monitoring and control systems, data processing facilities and product dissemination facilities. As part of the EPSSG System Team, you will have the following responsibilities System related analyses to ensure completeness and coherence of the concepts and design for end to end data processing with special focus on Establish and maintain the system design in the area of data dissemination including maintenance of an overall budget Ensure that the system design is compatible with all instrument calibration needsactivities Ensure that the system design takes into account all necessary auxiliary data needed for product generation. Follow up of Instrument Functional Chain Teams IFCT activities from a system engineering point of view Support for the preparation and maintenance of system technical specifications Establishing and maintaining traceability between the system technical specifications and upper and lower level requirements General support to other system engineering activities. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent Extensive work experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO including end to end data processing aspects Ability to analyze systems from an endtoend perspective combined space and ground segment, understand relevant details while keeping the focus on the overall system aspects and to present the results in a comprehensible way Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform system level analyses for complex polar satellite systems Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. To ensure continuity of the core missions supported by the current EPSMetop system and to fulfil complementary user needs a followup programme EPSSG is currently being prepared by EUMETSAT. EPSSG will be the second generation of EUMETSATs polar system and as such will have a strong heritage from the existing EPS with its Metop satellites and operations, and from other elements of the EUMETSAT infrastructure in support of current programmes. RHEA is currently recruiting a Data Processing Engineer to support the EU FP7 Quality Assurance for Essential Climate Variables QA4ECV project at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. The QA4ECV Quality Assurance for Essential Climate Variables project is an international effort, which will develop a Quality Assurance QA system for observational data products.
