You will join the FV, Eng Ops Products, Space Physics Fr department and will strengthen our Operations Products group. The Operations Products group develops software products for space systems operations telecommunications, Earth observation, etc. Our solutions, used at different stages in the space system lifecycle design and operation validation are at the core of numerous function processes, implementing stateoftheart software development. Passionate about software development, you will join a team on the cutting edge of development methods Agile and focused on creating products intended to improve the user productivity and the efficiency of function processes. First, due to your expertise on object technologies java, Eclipse RCP, UML, Javascript, etc. and successful initial experience developing an industrial software, you will take part in a solution for operating satellites from control or mission centres, for Airbus teams or external customers. You will then develop towards being responsible for one or several products and business management. You will analyse the customers need and define and perform revisions while accompanying their deployment in France and in Germany. You will define the roadmap for your products, drive its implementation, ensure technical mastery and steer the development team. You will also advance the teams privileged position at the core of numerous processes. These products are part of a software suite which requires technical, architectural, functional and ergonomical coherency. In particular it is made up of MOSAIC automation of satellite or ground segment operations, TELMASOLEA telemeasuring analysis, DALI intersite alignment in real and nonreal time, SYSTEMA Space Engineering and FOST satellite database. These products are used by the Space Systems internal customers and sold internationally. This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities. Your main task and responsibilities will include Learning all the customer functions activities, processes, interfaces, etc., Technically analysing the new functions requiredcorrecting faults, Being responsible for specification, architecture, coding and validating upgrades, Preparing financial and technical proposals for the customer, Performing technical and operational documentation, Deploying the products, Performing training and providing customer support, Managing an additional development team if necessary, Fulfilling quality assurance plan requirements, Performing a technology watch, Reporting to the customer and management. Necessary knowledge of disciplines and a demanding technical environment will allow you to fully demonstrate your technical, IT and interpersonal skills in a field in high growth and at the core of Airbus Defence and Space processes. This position will involve some business trips in France andor abroad as such, you must be able to travel accordingly. The key person will be in charge of the definition of the overall operational concept from the interface with industry up to the uplink of the new software images to the satellites. Heshe will produce the OBSW Ops Guide and related operation procedures. Heshe will be responsible for the end to end operational concept to manage reference and characterisation Databases being delivered to EUMETSAT. This also includes operational interfaces with industry. The key person will define for each type of database its life cycle and configuration control for operation usage. The key person will manage the Operational database against changes to successive Satellite Reference Databases deliveries. Heshe will provide a single interface within OPIT for the Satellite and Instrument Characteristic Databases and support FDF and PDAP experts for their respective Databases. Heshe will contribute to OICDs with external partners with respect to OBSW and Databases items. The key person will manage Ops Prep database editor tool and OBSW tool environments. Heshe will support the setting up of the OPS Configuration Management CM tool to manage satellite and ground configuration control. Heshe will coordinate the needs for operational configurations of the OBSW tools, procedures and Databases for a multi ground segment environments OPE, VAL, ENG and multisatellites. Heshe will support the MCO and PDAP ground segment development teams as Ops Prep representative with respect to OBSW and Databases interfaces and tools... PROFILE In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a demonstrated experience of at least three years in the field of spacecraft and ground segment operations with specific experience as follow Satellite operation preparation and routine operations phases OBSW maintenance expertise with good knowledge of Configuration Management CM processes for both ground images and onboard memory management Satellite Databases management in the frame of the operation preparation phase Experience on Operation Preparation tools such as procedure editor and databases management tools Familiarity with the definition of operational interfaces and interactions with industry or external partners. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key person to have experience with some of the following Knowledge of the ECSS E7041 Telemetry Telecommand Packet Utilisation standard Knowledge of the mission control systems SCOS and OBSM application Knowledge of the mission control systems SCOS MIB and SCOS MIB editors e.g. DABYS Knowledge of SQL and database management tools Some programming and scripting skills would also be an asset. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
