Tuscaloosa officials approve $28M in tax breaks for Mercedes

Tuscaloosa County officials last Thursday approved larger tax breaks for Mercedes-Benz U.S. International to offset expansion costs at the company's Vance-based production facility. The Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority agreed to increase the value of tax abatements for the company to $28.1 million, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Denver Post: Federal mining officials are moving ahead with a new environmental assessment on coal mining operations at the Colowyo Mine near Craig, including the impacts of greenhouse gases on climate change.
