You will contribute to the ongoing deployment and exploitation phase of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, as well as the definition of the future second generation of Galileo with a high responsibility for system performance and integrity aspects. You will join the Airbus Navigation Department. With more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. In your daily activities you can expect Management of system performance budgets in combination with underlying system modelling to provide the required statistical evidences Full responsibility for the definition and assessment of service performance parameters aligned to system performance requirements Contribute to performance trouble shooting for the Galileo system with detailed investigation of system anomalies and feared events which includes the responsibility for definition and assessment of required algorithms for data evaluation. Contribute to the implementation of Galileo SafetyofLife support functions for EGNOS and ARAIM by definition and assessment of feared events, integrity trees and system models in combination with collection of empirical evidence. What are we looking for? Educated to a degree in an Engineering discipline such as Navigation, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Geodesy or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in satellite navigation systems, in particular GPS, Galileo and SBAS Profound knowledge on GNSS algorithms for data processing and system performance budget management Solid experience in navigation system and user algorithms including precise positioning concepts such as PPP and RTK Familiarity in statistics and in describing and modelling of statistical processes in particular for error propagation analyses Deep understanding of GNSS enduser constraints and GNSS applications including integrity aspects for Advanced RAIM and SafetyLife applications Experience in systems engineering processes, rapid coding and efficient usage of engineering tools Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and define innovative solutions Motivated to work within an international culture and willingness to adjust to an international environment Readiness to acquire a national security clearance is of advantage Fluent in English To apply click here

This position will lead the GNC systems design and analysis efforts for ispaces lunar lander development. ispace is a leading microrobotics Japanese company with subsidiaries in the United States and Europe. ispaces Hakuto rover won the Google XPRIZE mobility milestone award and is a leading contender for the 20M Grand Prize. ispaces lunar lander is its next step towards prospecting for, mining and utilizing lunar resources to expand human presence in space. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base in GNC system design and analysis on both flight and ground segment sides. More importantly, specific experience in landing on celestial bodies, including precision landing and obstacle avoidance using a closed loop system is highly desired. The effort includes all phases of design and analysis, from helping the team define system requirements and architecture, to schematics and layout, analysis, simulation, component selection and supporting prototyping efforts with hardware and software in the loop testing. Key Responsibilities Participate in product definition, specification and requirements phases Collaborate on architecture design, component selection, including make or buy decisions, with other design and analysis team members Document requirements and specification Detailed designverification of lander GNC system for both flight and ground segments Support mission design and lunar landing site selection Support integration, troubleshooting and testing Basic Qualifications Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent Five or more years experience in spacecraft GNC system design and analysis Experience in procurement, integration and testing of GNC sensors and components Designoperations experience across a range of missions and system elements flight and ground segments Experience with analysis and simulation tools and techniques such as Kalman filtering Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills Preferred Experience Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field Ten or more years spacecraft GNC design and analysis experience Specific Lander experience including precision landing and obstacle avoidance Experience with GMAT, STK, GMV or similar mission analysis and GNC tools Knowledge of lunar topography, target landing site selection and relative navigation Experience with flight dynamics systems and command and control networks
