AAMA has updated and released a document specifying test methods, specifications, and field checks used to evaluate structural adequacy of wall systems and their ability to resist water penetration and air leakage. AAMA 501-15 is intended to be referenced in current laboratory and field testing methods for exterior wall systems comprised of curtain walls, storefronts, and sloped glazing. Document updates also take into consideration new technologies for equipment used for testing.

Announced during 2015 AAMA Summer Conference, there were 7 AAMA scholarships of $2,000 awarded to children of employees of AAMA member companies. Applicants were judged on grade point average, college entrance exam scores, and 500-word essay. Eligible candidates had to be high school seniors or college students pursuing degrees in engineering or technical field relating to building products industry. Nine partner scholarships also were announced.

AAMA has updated and released 2 documents specific to aluminum finishes. AAMA 612-15 describes test procedures and performance requirements for architectural quality combined finishes of anodic oxide sealed with transparent organic coating applied to aluminum extrusions and panels for architectural products. Similarly, AAMA 2603-15 covers procedures and requirements for pigmented organic coatings applied to aluminum extrusions and panels. This standard covers factory-applied coatings only.
