President Barack Obama released the administrations $3.9 trillion fiscal year 2015 budget that provides additional funding for preschool, job training and climate change research. The budget also provides funding for manufacturing institutes, health and environmental research, and supports funding to train 100,000 teachers in 500 districts. Money is also allocated for infrastructure repair for roads, bridges, railways and transit systems. The President said, Our budget is about choices. Its about our values. United States Department of Agriculture Proposes $146 Billion Budget

The United States Department of Agricultures FY 15 budget outlay totals $146 billion with approximately $23 billion in discretionary spending, and $123 billion in mandatory spending. This is an 8% cut from FY 14. The spending areas would include 76% for nutrition; 11% for farm and commodity programs; 8% for conservation and nutrition; and 5% for other areas (including rural development, food safety, research, etc.). Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said the budget proposal achieves, reform and results for the American taxpayer; fosters opportunity for the men and women living, working and raising families in rural America; and supports innovation through strategic, future-focused investments. read more

FAA is proposing $55,125 civil penalty against Whirlybird Helicopters LLC of Ogden, UT, for allegedly violating DOT's drug and alcohol testing regulations. FAA alleges Whirlybird failed to conduct pre-employment drug tests on 8 employees prior to their being hired to perform safety-sensitive functions on company’s helicopters, which it uses in commercial air tour operations.
