Last revised in 1986, standard is being updated for clarity and simplification of calculation process. ANSI/ASAE AD5687:1999, Equipment for harvesting — Combine harvesters — determination and designation of grain tank capacity and unloading device performance, replaces ISO 5687:1999, which was without deviations. Revised adoption clarifies standard by removing all subjectivity from testing procedure. Deviations now include additional bounds on test parameters to improve test repeatability, with goal of achieving greater reliability and consistency of reported results regardless of facilitator. Asabe to Adopt Large Rotary Mower ISO Safety Standard

American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has initiated project to adopt, nationally, ISO 4254-13:2012, Agricultural machinery - Safety -Part 13: Large rotary mowers. ASABE's adoption of said international standard will include maximum cutting height for use in conducting foot probe test. Although this deviates from ISO document, inclusion will further align technical content with standard SAE J232, Industrial Rotary Mowers, published by SAE.
