IPC releases PCB industry results for November 2014.

According to November findings from its monthly North American PCB Statistical Program, strong year-on-year order growth kept PCB book-to-bill ratio high, while sales remained slightly below last year. Total PCB shipments decreased 3.4% in November 2014 from November 2013, bringing year-to-date shipment growth to -1.2%. Compared to previous month, PCB shipments were down 5.0%. PCB bookings increased by 12.4% compared to November 2013, improving year-to-date order growth rate to -0.1%.

IPC Applauds Passage of RAMI Act by Congress.

IPC commended Congress for its bipartisan passage of Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act and called upon President Barack Obama to sign it into law. Enactment of said legislation, which will authorize National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI), has been top policy priority for IPC and its member companies. First proposed by President Obama, NNMI will consist of multiple advanced manufacturing centers focused on different technology issues.

Michael Carano appointed IPC Ambassador Council chair.

Michael Carano, director of new products and business development with OM Group Electronic Chemicals, LLC, has been appointed IPC Ambassador Council chairman. Council is comprised of members of the IPC Hall of Fame, who use their knowledge, experience, and insights to provide advice and guidance to IPC and its programs to further advance the electronics industry. Carano, who currently serves on IPC's Board of Directors, succeeds the late Dieter Bergman.
