Skechers USA Inc. said it has filed a lawsuit accusing Steven Madden Ltd. of infringing on its patents for the Skechers' Go Walk line and other products. Manhattan Beach-based Skechers filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, seeking compensatory and punitive damages as well as an injunction against selling the footwear from the Steven by Steve Madden Line under the style name Setta.

WASHINGTON: The United States filed a lawsuit on Wednesday to stop Sweden's Electrolux AB, which owns the Frigidaire, Kenmore and Tappan brands, from buying General Electric Co's appliance business, the Justice Department said in a statement. It said the $3.3 billion deal would hurt competition, and consumers, by combining two of the three top makers of stoves, cooktops and ovens.
