Your Tasks The candidate will work closely with spacecraft systems, structural, thermal, and AIT engineering to ensure acceptable payload performance from the design phase until the inorbit phase passing by the onground test activities. A portfolio of project responsibilities will be assigned each task having the objective of successful development, integration, test, and acceptance of payload performance. Simultaneous projects in various stages allows for a unique and exciting combination of tasks from early development, to onground and inorbit performance evaluation. Key responsibilities of the Payload Systems Engineer Perform subsystems and systems architecture tradeoffs and performance analysis Interact directly with suppliers, reviewing unit level performance and interfaces for suitability and assess impacts to payload level performance, regular travel to supplier facilities supports the Payload System Engineers and the Satellite AIT Manager with responsibility for ensuring adequate preparation and execution coordination of the full payload test campaign including satellite test campaign Ensures coordination within the AIT department of all stakeholders e.g. Technical Specialists Test Systems Experts EMC team EGSE specialist etc. Perform and review of Payload tests in ground IFT,TVAC,CATR,FFT and in orbit To interface toward the customers for technical and programmatic aspects concerning the Payload Your Qualifications Degree in telecommunications, electronics, microwave, electrical, aerospace engineering or comparable discipline Several years of working experience Experience in RF engineering for Space programs Excellent organization, prioritization, and communications skills Good team worker English working level proficiency We offer A dynamic and motivated international team High degree of scope for creativity, independence and selfinitiative Flat hierarchies and a huge grade of flexibility Attractive benefits such as flexible work time, sport activities...

You work closely with spacecraft systems, structural, thermal, and Assembly Integration and Test engineering to ensure satisfactory navigation payload performance throughout all project phases. Your Tasks Monitor industry developments and planned invitations to tender ITTs, support the maintenance and planning of the technology roadmap related to GNSS. Coordinate and contribute to the internal training, knowledge, and tools database. Support and lead the design and development of the next generation payload architecture including architecture tradeoffs, performance model development, and verification planning. Lead requirements flowdown and specification writing for subsystems and units Amplifiers, Antennas, Filters, Signal Generator, etc. Review and assess supplier proposals. Model and assess the RF Power, Signal performance, clock frequency stability, and other payload performance parameters. Support test campaigns by analyzing measured payload performance and assessingtroubleshooting anomaliesnonconformances. Analyze any nonconformances for impact and gain approval from customer. Review and assess supplier documentation and participate in review meetings design, qualification, testreadiness, posttest, acceptance, etc. as customer. Assess onorbit performance and anomaly reports. Travel regularly to suppliercustomer sites supporting testing and technical meetings as above. Your Qualifications Degree in ElectricalElectronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Signal Processing, or comparable discipline. Graduate level preferred. Intermediate to senior professional experience in the space industry. Selfmanaged and proactive working style. Working level proficiency in written and spoken English. Additional contracts may be awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of followup contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63, and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT. This post is graded A1 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 4393 per month net of internal tax which may be negotiable on the basis of skills and experience.
