We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a MTG AIV Engineering Team You will be based initially at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Your Tasks The principal task is to perform the AIV engineering activities foreseen for the integration, validation and verification of the MTG system, coordinated by the responsible of the MTG AIV Engineering activities In particular, main tasks will include Generation of Test Specifications for the MTG System AIV Generation of Test Results Analysis reports Generation of NonTest Based Verification reports Interaction with the MTG System Team for the procurement of test data identified in the Test Specifications, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance tests Identification and development of additional tools to generate adhoc test data or to analyse the test results Generate test data using the available tools Generate test data by reconditioningmodifying the ones procured in coordination with the MTG system team Configuration management of tools test data sets A contribution to the following general AIV tasks is also foreseen Contribute to the acceptance of the MTG facilities before their integration in the MTG system Contribute to maintain the AIV schedule in coordination with the AIV engineering responsible Contribute to evolution of the VCD in coordination with the Requirements verification team Contribute, if needed, to the preparation of test procedure, including the automatic test procedures, and execution of tests in coordination with the Tests preparation and execution team Your Profile The key persons shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks described above without supervision. The profiles foreseen are matching experienced Integration, Validation and Verification engineers for System and Ground Segments in the framework of Earth Observation systems with very good programming skills. It is expected that the team will have the skills and experience described here below. Proven background with the development of System andor Ground Segments for Earth Observation Direct involvement in AIV activities for data processing chains of Earth Observation Systems, including generation of Test Specifications, specification and procurementdevelopment of test tools and of test data Direct involvement in AIV activities for Monitoring and Control of Earth Observation Systems, including generation of Test Specifications, specification and procurementdevelopment of test tools and of test data Experience in the analysis and reporting of verification results versus associated requirements Experience with software specification, design and development, including relevant standards Knowledge of higher programming languages, such as Python, CC, Java, bash scripting Excellent organisational and communication skills working language for the position is English Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team Experience in use andor development of software frameworks, use of automating Tools for System deployment, testing and configuration Experience in writing SW documentation. Familiarity with the ECSS standard Familiarity with IBM DOORs Experience in development of automatic tests. Come and lead the verification engineering activities for our planned Meteosat Third Generation MTG satellites. The Role This is an outstanding opportunity to become involved in one of our most exciting and important future missions. In this role you will manage the Verification Engineering Team, leading and coordinating all the verification engineering activities for our next generation of satellites. You need to be a team player as you will work in close partnership with the Instrument Functional Chain Teams, the Operations Preparation team and the ground segment and system development teams. You will lead and coordinate the preparation of the system integration and verification plan, generating test specifications and ensuring that test tools and data are available and ready for use. You will assure the test processes are in line with the specifications and review test results with the relevant experts. Key to this role is maintaining control of the verification records. You will have substantial experience in system integration and verification of end to end Earth observation satellite systems, ideally with exposure to test preparation, execution and the use of simulators to generate test data. You need to be aware of industry standards, with the capacity to understand complex issues in a developmental environment. You will need to be able to communicate effectively. You can manage technical concepts and need to ensure that these are presented simply in formal documents and verbal presentations. Help us to prepare and support the operations preparations activities for our Meteosat Third Generation MTG satellites. The Role This is an outstanding opportunity to become involved in one of our most exciting and important future missions. In this role you will be the technical lead for the System Validation Tests involving the different modes of satellites and both our and the LEOP service providers Control Centres. You will also coordinate the coengineering of the satellite operations preparation in readiness for our partners to prepare and launch our MTG satellites. EUMETSAT will take over the operations responsibility after the LEOP phase and during this preparatory phase you will ensure our responsibilities to the LEOP service provider are delivered on time. You will assess the viability of the space and ground segment developments to ensure that we deliver a safe and efficient operational service after launch. You will represent EUMETSAT and work with our partners to support them in the run up to the satellites going live. You will have worked on at least one LEOP and have experience of the operations preparations phase of an Earth Observation satellite mission. A knowledge of SCOS mission control systems would be an asset. You need to be aware of industry standards, with the capacity to understand complex issues in an operational environment. Capable of being calm in a fastpaced environment, you will need to be able to communicate effectively under pressure, being aware of the conflicting interests of every stakeholder. You can manage complex technical concepts and need to ensure that these are presented simply in formal documents and verbal presentations so that all databases and procedures are updated in line with operational developments.
