MTG Data Processing Facility Procurement Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Support the production of Invitation to Tender datapackage for complex Data Processing Facility procurement Support the evaluation of bidders technical and management proposals Support to the management of several industrial contracts including their planning and coordination of implementation in coordination with the Contract Division Support to the planning of the Data Processing System activities in line with the overall Ground Segment activities Support the risk management process for the Data Processing System facility development, including identification of risk items, definition of mitigation actions and follow up of actions Support processing and evaluation of baseline evolutions, including maintenance of the Facility requirements Support interactions with the Sentinel4 procurement team for the integration of the Sentinel4 components into the MTG ground segment Support the processing and evaluation of change requests change proposals Support and participate to progress meetings, interface definition workshops, user interface workshops, etc. Support major facility reviews, including PDR, CDR, PAR and FAR Support the generation and management of test datasets and its provision to facility suppliers Become familiar with the facility usage, setup, configuration and installation Support the preparation and execution of the Integration, Verification and Validation of the Ground Segment for the Data Processing System Support and participate to facility testing campaigns Support facility handover to GS integration team and or operations and support the postdelivery activities in particular during the operational validation and later on during the commissioning activities Participation in Programme projects reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Several years of professional experience in the management of industrial contracts, preferably for development of Payload Data Processing Systems in the Earth Observation domain Experience with the technical, management and contractual negotiations with suppliers andor subcontractors, preferably for software development in the Earth Observation domain Experience with leading small engineering andor procurement teams Experience with full ground segment lifecycle support, preferably acquired through participation to large software development projects Familiarity with ECSS standards and processes Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of French or another European language is an advantage. Mission The key person will be integrated into the System Design, LEOP and Commissioning team of the MTG System team. The general task of the key person will be to provide support to the procurement and handling of the Operations Satellite Simulator SATSIM which is a realtime behavioural model of the space segment and of the space to ground interface and, more generally for system design tasks including LEOP and commissioning. In particular the tasks will include Strong involvement in the procurement of SATSIM directly reporting to the LEOP and Commissioning Manager analyses of documentation, assessment of design versus needs requirements, tracking of actions, proposing way forward to solve technical issues, maintainability by EUMETSAT over the lifetime of the programme, progress working meetings... liaise with the MTG MOF engineer in charge of SATSIM aspects in the EUMETSAT ground segment Participation in the Operations Preparation group as the SATSIM expert and system design expert Technical assistance to other teams for topics related to the satellite simulator Support the design of the system, in particular for the satellite related aspects and Satellite Analysis Reporting functionalities. Support the preparationreview of programme technical documentation e.g. requirements, plans, user manuals, system documentation, technical notes, space segment data package, ground segment data package, satellite Flight Operation Manuals, validation reports.... Preparation and provision of training in particular with respect to the satellite simulator. Support the system verification and validation before launch and commissioning. Support the reporting, analysis and investigation of anomalies particularly those relating to the satellite simulator. Attendance at technical meetings and reviews. Liaise, as necessary for above tasks, with the Operation and TSS Departments to ensure that the operational including maintenance needs are properly documented and with the Ground Segment team to ensure that they are taken into account in the design. Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, knowledge and experience of the following is essential Satellite Operations Simulator including its verification and validation The Reference Architecture REFA for simulators as well as the SIMULUS environment Satellite Monitoring and Control functions associated with a geostationary satellite Geostationary spacecraft operations in general Satellite Operations training and simulation campaign using a simulator in view of ground segment operational validation Knowledge of the ECSS standards related to TMTC including PUS, the SLE protocol as well as those relevant for the procurement of the simulator.
