The test engineer will be under the functional responsibility of the head of the service and will primarily have the following tasks Generation of the test plans. Generation of Quality related test procedures. Analysis of test results, formatting, interpretation and generation of test reports. Highlight important points to the test bench responsible and propose improvements. Prepare and manage internal and or external testing activities logistics, procurement, planning and monitoring. Job description We are looking for a System Test and Validation Engineer to support our customer, ESAESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, with endtoend test and validation of ground segment software infrastructure applications used for satellite mission operations. The ESOC software applications include MICONYS, SIMULUS, TEVALIS, DABYS, EUD, and Ground Station Back End Data Systems. Good knowledge of one or more of these applications is required. Responsibilities Typical activities to be undertaken are Setup and maintenance of the Integration and Test reference environment and relevant configuration Installation and integration of infrastructure application releases Creation and maintenance of virtual machines containing a collection of infrastructure applications Creation and maintenance of test databases, containing the static and dynamic data required to perform the systems validation activities Installation, configuration, test, validation, verification, debugging of ESOC infrastructure applications MICONYS, SIMULUS, TEVALIS, DABYS, EUD, Ground Station Back End Data Systems Participation in Progress Meeting and Reviews Review of technical documentation and verification of compliance to the applicable requirements Production and maintenance of technical documentation, including test plans and test reports Collaboration with the ESOC Technical Officers for the acceptance tests activities of the main systems deliveries and patches Definition and execution of manual and automated test cases Measurement of systems performance Production of test reports documenting the outputs of the systems acceptance test activities. Software verification and validation activities listed above will be executed whenever necessary onsite at ESOC, using the technical installations available in the ESOC infrastructure integration and test facilities. Some activities may be performed at Terma premises. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in Q1 2016. Location Terma premises and customer ESOC premises, both in Darmstadt. As the successful applicant you will undertake a full range of engineering activities within the environmental test skill area. Your primary role will be to configure, instrument and perform test operations on space equipment using Vibration and Shock testing facilities to meet customer quality test standards and requirements. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Lead on all Technical issues within Airbus DS on Vibration Test activities. Technical validation of the Vibration Test teams procedures and processes for all Environmental Test activities in Airbus Defence Space Stevenage. Design and manufacture of bespoke test setups and tooling. Mechanical operations on test facilities to support desired test setup. Review and analysis of post test data. Compiling of test data, producing test certification and reports. Providing expertise in writing Environmental Test Vibration Procedures for future tests. Maintain test instrumentation, facilities and equipment including a robust planned preventative maintenance cycle. Liaise with internal and external customers about their projects. Provide technical input into test equipment design and procurement. Including test equipment reliability, root cause analysis of process and quality errors, and identifying improvement opportunities. Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to. Ensure all procedures work instructions and processes are followed and correctly annotated on the completion of every operation. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Experience in Vibration Control Software and Data Logging is mandatory. Knowledge in Mechanics and Electric Engineering. Knowledge of Vibration Vacuum Climatic test techniques would be an asset. Knowledge of Stress analysis and Signal Processing analysis is also a plus. Understanding of Space Environment conditions would be a plus. Understanding technical documentation drawing, procedures, notes. Computer literacy Microsoft office and Excel is also required.
