POSITION ID SV2711 Role Function Test Coordinator Support Engineer in Darmstadt Germany GENERAL CONDITIONS START Q2 2016 LOCATION Darmstadt TYPE OF BUSINESS Science WORKING LANGUAGE English, French is considered an advantage DEADLINE 20 January 2016 MUSTHAVE SKILLS MANDATORY For each test or group of tests a test conductor shall be nominated and given the responsibility to prepare and perform the tests, coordinate the utilisation of the system elements, document the outcome of the tests, report on their execution during the TRB. The relevant duties are given in the sections on the test execution and management tasks. The test conductor is normally supported by IVV engineers as required by the complexity of the tests. The following skills are considered mandatory Known Applications Satellite monitoring and control e.g. SCOS2000. Satellite communications packet TMTC, SLE protocol. Mission control functions. GS monitoring and control. Near realtime, Earth observation data processing, archiving, distribution. SpecificProduct Skills Operating systems UNIXLinux Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP programming, network monitoring Automated software testing Requirements and verification management DOORS Meteorological data formats HDF5, NetCDF, JPEG2000 Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk Software development environments Eclipse Relational databases MySQL, Oracle NICETOHAVE SKILLS CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE In addition, the following set of skills will be considered an advantage General Skills Structured software development and verification Software maintenance, performance monitoring ECSS standards Configuration control Requirements and verification management TASKS The tests to be executed are included in the System and GS IVV plans and associated schedules issued and maintained by EUMETSAT and, at the lower level of test case, in the test specifications. The test execution activities as part of the support service include scheduling of all test cases, in line with the overall System and GS IVV schedules ensuring sufficiently in advance of test execution that relevant test procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Test Readiness Reviews TRR, in which the readiness of all required elements to perform a specific set of tests those elements provided as part of the IVV support service, those part of the GS and System configuration, and the required engineering resources will be checked, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the tests taken performing the tests according to the test procedures and the arrangements taken in the TRR, undertaking any required analysis of the results and recording the outcome in relevant test reports, and anomaly reports if necessary organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Test Review Board TRB meetings to present the test results, the anomalies identified, and the proposed verification status of the requirements tested supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings liaising with facility procurement teams and development contractors for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases.
