Tasks and Responsibilities As Meteorological Products Software Engineer you should analyse, support the design, operational implementation and validation of the agreed changes to product algorithms. You will also be involved in the analysis and resolution of anomalies relating to the product generation software. In addition, experience in validation of geophysical products from satellite data is highly desirable. Furthermore, you should have practical, demonstrable experience with Algorithm software development using FORTRAN 9095 IntelGNULinux and or IBMPOWERAIX environments Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification and their documentation Source code control systems Subversion and or git Anomaly correction processes Python and IDL programming languages Common meteorological data formats, i.e., BUFR, CAP, GRIB, HDF5, and netCDF Authoring clear and concise technical documentation. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore you must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
