We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Senior Software Engineer Project Leader mf Space Applications Services is a growing company looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work in our offices in Zaventem. You will join the Control Data Centers Team whose activities cover the complete software lifecycle user requirements, specification, architecture, detailed design, integration, verification and validation for a number of projects. Tasks and Responsibilities You will be responsible for delivering the technical products software and software life cycle documentation agreed with internal and external Project Managers. You will be the Project Manager with focus on technical aspects for a number of Company led software projects. You will create the planning of your team, define daily priorities, and share the workload imposed by the development of multiple software products between the Software Engineers of your team. You will actively participate in the actual technical software development activities within your team. You will support the Department Manager in Business Development tasks involving your team and contribute to corresponding parts of technical proposals. Qualifications and Experience The following requirements are mandatory for this position A university degree or equivalent min. 4 years in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar and at least 5 years of experience as Software Engineer in industry. Excellent command of spoken and written English. Development in LinuxUnix environments. Prior experience as lead engineer in charge of a team management skills. Furthermore we search for engineers who have knowledge and or experience in technical areas including, but not limited to Programming languages e.g. Java, CC, Fortran. Scripting languages e.g. shell scripts, javascript, PHP, python. Build automation e.g. Ant, Maven, make, cmake. Application Servers e.g. Glassfish, Apache Tomcat. The European Ground Systems Common Core EGSCC is a European initiative to develop a common infrastructure to support space systems monitoring and control in pre and postlaunch phases for all mission types. Tasks and Activities You will be working on a range of challenging projects, as one of the key software engineers developing systems used for the automated monitoring and control of spacecraft. Skills and Experience You have at least a bachelor degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or equivalent For the Software Architect, you must have at least 8 years of experience in software designing and modelling. For the Software Development Engineer, you must have at least 4 years of experience working in the software development environment. You must have hands on experience in Java, Linux, as well as experience in Design and modelling tools such as UML, Eclipse Modelling Framework EMF and Xtext. Knowledge and experience of C, .Net is also valuable.
